Our first off-site workshop went wonderfully last Saturday - Peter Latner, Juana, and four daring students headed off to the brand-new Shops at West End, a “lifestyle center” out in St. Louis Park, to explore the theme of “Suburban Landscapes,” in a truly suburban world right outside of the city.
Prior to the class, Peter talked to the students about what makes a suburb, what differences they might find between an urban landscape and a suburban one, and showed some examples of other photographers who have captured the essence of suburbia in still images, like American photographer Robert Adams.

As the students were shooting covertly, behind the scenes images from this class are few. However, the students’ prints will be up in the Project Space by the middle of next week. Come take a look at what they found!

Peter starts by asking some tough questions…

On to images…(the rest is up to our imagination!)
*No workshop next weekend - Franklin will be closed for the weekend of the 4th. Felicidades, everyone!
